Armor Tough Coatings was founded in the early winter months of 2014 by Joe Elmore in White Lake, Michigan. With a background in managing painting crews and handling large-scale projects for other companies, Joe decided to take a leap and start his own business.
Initially a one-man operation, Joe personally handled all aspects of the company—from management to painting—working long hours to build a client base and establish Armor Tough Coatings as a trusted name in the industry. His dedication to quality and customer satisfaction quickly set him apart, and the business began to grow.
2014:
Armor Tough Coatings is founded in White Lake, Michigan by Joe Elmore.
2017:
Armor Tough Coatings moved home base to Grand Blanc, MI begins offering industrial painting and protective coating services, diversifying its portfolio and reaching new markets.
2023:
The company participates in its first major community project, donating time and services to the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services (MDHHS) Foster Care Division.
2023:
The company expands to serve the greater Detroit metro area, and expanding shop in Burton, Michigan.
2024:
Armor Tough Coatings continues to grow, expanding its team and enhancing its service offerings to meet the evolving needs of residential, commercial, and industrial clients.
